As a PhD candidate at NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Vilcek Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, you not only study and work with our renowned faculty, but also network with fellow graduate students and postdoctoral fellows involved in research projects. We offer clubs and groups for many student interests, from the BioTech Club to the Vilcek Student Council.
Our PhD candidates are eligible for benefits, including an annual stipend and grants to travel to academic and scientific conferences. Throughout their tenure, we provide our students with career resources to prepare them for professional life.
PhD candidates are an important part of our research community. Many of our candidates are honored with academic awards and publish their research in renowned peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating the significance of their doctoral work.
PhD Candidate Housing
Housing for PhD candidates is available through NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s housing services office, and priority is given to newly matriculated students. If you live in student housing, your monthly rent is deducted directly from your stipend payment.
