Faculty & Staff Partnerships

CSAAH faculty and staff are active members of several coalitions across New York City committed to improving health in immigrant and minority communities.
 
  • SAHI:  The NYU South Asian Health Initiative (SAHI) engages in diverse community-based research and education activities to bridge South Asians in the United States with the health care system, and to reduce the health care disparities faced by community members.
  • Project CHARGE:  Project CHARGE seeks to increase financial access to healthcare, through capacity building and the implementation of an advocacy & policy project.
  • Healthy Heart Coalition:  The Chinese American Healthy Heart Coalition is a community-based partnership which seeks to improve the cardiovascular health and quality of life for Chinese Americans in New York City.
  • Kalusugan Coalition: is a multidisciplinary collaboration dedicated to creating a unified voice to improve the health of the Filipino community in the New York City/ Jersey City area through network & resource development, educational activities, research, community action, and advocacy.
  • New York Taxi Workers Alliance Health Rights Team:  NYTWA's Health Rights campaign aims to provide comprehensive medical screenings to over 20,000 uninsured taxi drivers and in the process, engage in a follow-up health needs assessment.
  • ROC-NY New York City Restaurant Health and Safety Taskforce:  ROC-NY’s Health and Safety Taskforce seeks to understand and address health and safety issues facing New York City restaurant workers.
