
Lerner Health Promotion Visiting Scholars Program
The Lerner Health Promotion Program welcomes scholars from other institutions and NYU Langone Health departments to collaborate on cutting-edge research and programmatic work in New York City. Our Visiting Scholars Program offers a unique opportunity to engage with our team of esteemed faculty, researchers, and program developers for a period of six months to one year.
Program Focus
Our Visiting Scholars Program focuses on three key areas:
- whole-person health
- integrative health
- health promotion
Scholar Responsibilities
Our visiting scholars to engage in a variety of activities, including the following:
- support departmental research- and programming-related efforts
- execute tasks related to assigned projects with academic rigor and professionalism
- present progress, updates, and outcomes to the department
Scholars receive guidance from faculty and staff to refine their approach and align with current trends in whole-person health, integrative health, and/or health promotion throughout their tenure.
Facilities and Services
Visiting scholars have the following privileges:
- an NYU Langone Health identification card
- access to the NYU Health Sciences Library
- institutional email account
- access to all NYU Langone Health approved software and programs
- access to NYU Langone’s professional development trainings
- complimentary enrollment in our continuing education and workplace wellbeing offerings
Note: Funding for lodging or transportation is not available.
Eligibility Requirements
We look for potential candidates to meet the following requirements:
- graduate-level students or recent graduates
- proven ability to engage in collaborative research and work in interdisciplinary teams
- experience with statistical analysis and quantitative methods
- proficiency in conducting comprehensive literature reviews
- experience in developing and executing research projects
Application Process
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Candidates must submit the following:
- a résumé or CV
- a cover letter explaining your interest in whole-person health, integrative health, and/or health promotion nationality/visa status, and financial arrangements for the scholar period
- a concise overview of the proposed project, including objectives, significance, methodology, and relevant qualifications
- one letter of recommendation
