Multidisciplinary Conferences

Weekly meetings are held at the following locations and times:

Lecture Series Wednesday

During the academic year, lectures are delivered by attendings from 7:00AM to 8:00AM on topics in General Thoracic Surgery. This lecture series specifically is targeted for the residents as didactic preparation for their American Board of Thoracic Surgery Specialty examinations.

Research Conference Thursday

During the academic year, lectures are delivered by members of the Thoracic Oncology Research Team which detail progress in the laboratory work as well as clinical trials. These meetings which last one hour are meant to familiarize the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery with ongoing research endeavors in the Division.

Protocol Conference Thursday

Approximately every two weeks at the NYU Clinical Cancer Center, members of the Thoracic Oncology team meet to discuss the status of already approved trials, as well as to start the process for the submission of new physician initiated trials, cooperative group or industry trials, as well as National Cancer Institute funded trials.

Mortality and Morbidity Conference

A monthly mortality and morbidity conference is held in concert with the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
