Research in the Department of Neurology’s divisions and centers spans the continuum of basic bench science, to translational research, to clinical investigations and trials. Our researchers are actively advancing our understanding and treatment of various neurologic conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, headache, multiple sclerosis, autonomic disorders, and stroke.

Through our pioneering basic and translational research programs, we are bringing new discoveries to the bedside. In our cutting-edge clinical trials, our research teams have made significant discoveries that optimize care for patients using the most advanced treatments and methodologies.

Our approach is multidisciplinary. Our research extends not only across divisions and centers within the Department of Neurology, but also across NYU Langone and NYU. Our rich collaborations provide complementary expertise, perspective, and know-how, and include collaborators in the Neuroscience Institute, Departments of Population Health and Radiology, Center for Human Genetics and Genomics, NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and NYU Center for Data Science, among others.
