Center for Orthopedic Innovation
NYU Langone’s Center for Orthopedic Innovation was established by one of the nation’s largest departments of orthopedic surgery and the largest orthopedic training program. Our center was created to serve the needs of creative problem-solvers in the orthopedic field by assisting them in bringing their ideas into practice. This exceptional, surgeon-driven, patient-focused approach is at the vanguard of value-based clinical innovation.
The center identifies and develops innovative solutions in the field of musculoskeletal care, including but not limited to medical devices, digital solutions, breakthrough drugs, and efficient and value-driven care delivery. Our team of innovators includes surgeons and surgeons-in-training, nurses, scientist–engineers, and technicians. We pair our clinical team with entrepreneurs, designers, and experienced investors to help them bring their ideas to life.
Having contributed hundreds of patents and many products on the market today, the members of NYU Langone’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery are not only leaders in their surgical field, but also pioneers who have contributed breakthrough technologies in fracture care, arthroscopy, joint reconstructive arthroplasty, spine surgery, and other areas.
The Center for Orthopedic Innovation is an exciting musculoskeletal innovation ecosystem that brings together contributors across the entire NYU Langone enterprise, other world-class institutions, orthopedic industry leaders, and the investment community. All the ingredients are assembled and connected to provide the brightest minds with the tools to tackle the unmet needs of our patients with orthopedic disorders and injuries.
