Members of the Translational Research Program, which is composed of Department of Pathology faculty, make decisions based on feasibility and scientific merit.

Project Background and Introduction

Describe the nature of the problem you plan to address: What question will you answer? Why is this question important to study? (maximum 500 words)

Place your work in the context of the field and describe how these studies will change thinking about mechanisms of disease or will change pathology practice. (maximum 150 words)

Work to Date and Preliminary Data

If preliminary work has been performed to assemble samples, generate data, or validate experimental techniques necessary for your proposed project, please describe them. (maximum 250 words)

Experimental Plan

Detail the number of samples, the techniques used, and how data will be analyzed.

Describe biostatistical considerations: will the study be sufficiently powered to answer the question being posed? (maximum 100 words)

Describe any pitfalls and alternatives: discuss the limitations of your proposed approaches and your alternative strategies to address the question in the event that potential obstacles arise. (maximum 100 words)

Provide a timeline that details anticipated milestones for your study, including time until completion and submission of results for conferences and publications. (maximum 100 words)

Outline your future plans: discuss how the results of your study may be extended in the future, including possible plans for grant submission. (maximum 100 words)

Personnel

List everyone who will be involved in the study design, acquisition of samples, data analysis, and writing up the results.

Budget
