Rehabilitation Observership, Training & Volunteer Opportunities

NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation offers observership, training, and volunteer opportunities to eligible candidates who want to explore careers in healthcare professions.

Our Observership Program for Practicing Rehabilitation Professionals is designed for practicing clinicians who need to complete their required number of observation hours to advance their careers in physical therapy or occupational therapy. Although you receive a certificate of completion at the end of the observership, this program does not award educational credits. Our program hosts international physicians; however, international medical students do not qualify as observers and cannot be hosted.

For more information about the Observership Program for Practicing Rehabilitation Professionals, contact Kirsten Horvath at kirsten.horvath@nyulangone.org.

We also offer a Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Observation and Volunteer Opportunities Program for students who plan to apply to graduate programs and need to complete between 100 and 120 observation hours as part of their admissions requirements. These are non-compensated positions that enable students to shadow rehabilitation specialists for educational purposes. To apply, please complete the application form and return it along with a reference letter via email to rusk.info@nyulangone.org.

We also encourage students who are interested in exploring careers in healthcare professions to learn more about our Health Career Opportunity Program.
