2018 Honors and Awards
Agnel Sfeir, PhD, was named a 2018 Mallinckrodt Scholar by the Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr. Foundation.
Niels Ringstad, PhD, was selected as a 2018 Pew Innovation Fund Investigator for his collaborative project examining neural sensing and behavioral responses toward pathogens.
Mary Rossillo and Alice Fok receive the “going the extra mile” award for their efforts in making the Skirball Institute more green.
Faculty promoted during the 2017–18 academic year were recognized at Dean’s Honors Day. Jeremy F. Nance, PhD, was promoted to full Professor; Ken H. Cadwell, PhD, Niels Ringstad, PhD, and Susan R. Schwab, PhD, were promoted to Associate Professor with tenure; and Agnel Sfeir, PhD, was promoted to Associate Professor.
Gira Bhabha, PhD was named a 2018 Searle Scholar for her research investigating how ballistic organelles drive host cell invasion.
Ruth Lehmann, PhD, received the Keith R. Porter Lecture Award from the American Society for Cell Biology.
Naomi Lopez-Caraballo, PhD, a graduate student in the Froemke Lab, received the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Gilliam Fellowship for Advanced Study.
