Department of Surgery Diversity & Health Equity

We are committed to excellence, empathy, and equity.

Leaders in the Department of Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine are committed to actively recruiting a diverse group of house staff, administrative employees, faculty members, and advanced practice providers. Our team’s mission is to foster a department culture in which diversity, equity, and inclusion are respected, intentionally valued, and drive excellence in all aspects of clinical care, education, and research.

Excellence, Empathy, and Equity

The core values of excellence, empathy, and equity propel our department to the leading edge of excellence, innovation, and creativity. We promote those values in the following ways.

  • We foster a culture free of harassment, bullying, sexual harassment, and microaggression.
  • We treat our patients, trainees, and staff with dignity and respect.
  • Our faculty is committed to providing state-of-the-art care to our community.
