NYU Grossman School of Medicine educates tomorrow’s surgical leaders through an array of opportunities that balance teaching, research, and clinical activities. In addition to training for medical students, residents, and fellows, we offer continuing medical education opportunities to healthcare professionals who wish to further their education.
Surgery Education for Medical Students
NYU Grossman School of Medicine students, as well as those visiting from other institutions, are provided the following opportunities for surgical training:

- 4/3 joint track into a Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency
- Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency
Surgery Fellowships
We offer accredited surgical fellowship training in eight subspecialties, as well as one unaccredited fellowship. Each of our training programs affords fellows an unmatched educational experience:
- Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship, accredited by the Fellowship Council
- Breast Surgery Fellowship, accredited by the Society of Surgical Oncology
- Colorectal Surgery Fellowship, accredited by the ACGME
- Endocrine Surgery Fellowship, accredited by the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons
- Howard B. Ginsburg Endowed Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery, accredited by the ACGME
- Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship, unaccredited
- Surgical Critical Care Fellowship, accredited by the ACGME
- Transplant Surgery Fellowship, accredited by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons
- Vascular Surgery Fellowship, accredited by the ACGME
