Department of Urology Education Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship

Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship

NYU Langone’s Departments of Urology and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) jointly offer Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) fellowship training. Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), our program is open to candidates in good standing in accredited urology or OBGYN residency training programs. Program length is three years for OBGYN-trained fellows and two years for urology-trained fellows.

Because we strive to have urology-trained and OBGYN–trained fellows in the program at all times, the number of open positions each year varies from one to three.

Clinical training with our board-certified faculty from both departments and a strong foundation in clinical and translational research prepare fellows to excel in both clinical and academic practice alike. Graduates of our program are eligible to participate in licensing examinations for URPS subspecialty certification.

Our program provides comprehensive training in clinical knowledge, surgical skill, research methodology, and leadership. Additionally, our fellows serve as teachers and role models for residents and medical students rotating on the UPRS service.
