Letter from the Residency Director

Dear Guest:

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology Residency Training program’s website. You probably already know from reviewing the history of our Department that our mission is fourfold and “training medical students, dermatology residents, graduate dermatologists and other physicians both to render the highest quality of patient care and to extend the clinical and basic-science boundaries of medicine” is key to our mission.

Our program is nationally and internationally recognized as a vital contributor to the field of dermatology. Our Department counts among its faculty members and graduates many of the fields’ leaders. Our residents rotate through ambulatory clinics and in-patient consultation services at Tisch Hospital/NYU Langone Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital Medical Center and the Manhattan Veterans Administration Medical Center, all located adjacent to one another on First Avenue in Manhattan. Our educational curriculum is structured specifically to provide the skills needed to pursue and achieve lifelong learning in dermatology.

Our faculty and administrative staff collaborated to design the “Residency Booklet” that you can easily download from this page. It will give you great insight into our program’s academic curriculum, clinical training and exposure to critical thinking and research.

We are very proud of our Department, its rich history and exciting future. We thank you for visiting our website and hope that it has been informative.

Sincerely

Jo-Ann Latkowski, M.D.
