Professor discusses work of division with students.

The Division of Medical Humanities is developing educational opportunities for medical professionals at the practicing physician and medical scholar levels. These opportunities include seminars, lectures, colloquia, Graduate Medical Education Courses, webinars, and Certificate and Master Degree Programs in Medical Humanities.

Medical Humanities Elective
A one-month Medical Humanities elective for medical students is held in February of each year.
 
The Division of Medical Humanities hosts two Medical Grand Rounds each academic year. Past speakers include Pulitzer-Prize winner Paul Harding, Dr. Rita Charon, Dr. Howard Markel, and more.
 
The Gold Humanism Honor Society Program for Residents and Fellows was piloted at NYULMC.
 
The Division has participated in, sponsored or co-sponsored a number of events. These have included book signings (Marcel Tuchman, M.D., Remember: My Stories of Survival and Beyond), Medical Grand Rounds (Rita Charon, M.D., PhD, Narrative Medicine), talks (Perri Klass, M.D., Doctors as Readers, Writers, Characters), and film screenings.
