Ashira Blazer, MD, Instructor, Recipient of Rheumatology Research Foundation Scientist Development Award

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ashira Blazer received the Rheumatology Research Foundation (RRF) Scientist Development Award. The Scientist Development Award encourages rheumatologists and rheumatology health professionals to pursue innovative biomedical or clinical research ideas. Dr. Blazer is being funded for her work entitled Arterial dysFunction Related to Interferon in Carriers of APOL1 (AFRICA). The research is aimed at identifying genetic factors impacting systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) outcomes in African and African American patients over a two year period.
