Rehabilitation Fellowships for Physicians

NYU Langone’s Rusk Rehabilitation offers specialized training to aspiring physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists. Fellows train with renowned specialists and subspecialists and get clinical experience treating one of the most diverse patient populations in the nation.

We offer training through two fellowship programs, both of which are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The one-year Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship offers training in the interdisciplinary area of brain injury rehabilitation. The one-year Sports Medicine Fellowship offers training in nonsurgical sports medicine from rehabilitation medicine, orthopedic surgery, and emergency medicine specialists.

To be eligible for our Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship, you must complete an ACGME-accredited residency program in either neurology, psychiatry, or physical medicine and rehabilitation before the start of the fellowship year. To be eligible for the Sports Medicine Fellowship, you must complete an ACGME-accredited residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation before the start of the fellowship year.

Fellows in our programs have gone on to become leaders in the field, with outstanding careers in clinical practice, academia, and research. We are committed to advancing the field of physical rehabilitation medicine by preparing future generations of physiatrists across various subspecialties. We are proud to provide fellows with a strong foundation they can build on so they can remain at the forefront of medicine.
