Yeast Art
We have also ventured beyond scientific research into the art world. As a medium, we engineered yeast to produce pigments using genes from different organisms like sea anemone, carrot and coral, to name a few. Nanoliter droplets of pigmented yeast are acoustically shot using a Labcyte Echo 550 onto an agar plate to generate the image. Learn more about our yeast art evolution, process, applications, and portfolio.
