NYU Mass Spectrometry Core for Neuroscience Services & Fees
The NYU Mass Spectrometry Core for Neuroscience offers a range of services, including liquid chromatography, reduction and alkylation, affinity purification, quantitation, and more.
How to Initiate a New Project
In most cases, especially for new users, we recommend discussing your project in advance with Thomas A. Neubert, PhD, facility director. Email him at thomas.neubert@nyulangone.org.
Each project is evaluated by Dr. Neubert and members of our steering committee. Projects are accepted according to the following priority scheme:
- First priority: National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)–funded projects
- Second priority: other National Institutes of Health (NIH)–funded, neuroscience-related projects
- Third priority: unfunded or new lines of experimentation consistent with the NINDS mission
- Fourth priority: unfunded or new lines of experimentation that are not neuroscience related, but align with other NIH agencies
After Dr. Neubert has confirmed that you are eligible to apply, a list of questions will be emailed to you, and based on the answers, Dr. Neubert and the facility’s steering committee will evaluate each project before conveying next steps to you.

Our fees for processing non-neuroscience–related samples are as follows:
