Reinforcement Learning and Attention in Decision Making
The purpose of this study is to investigate how decisions are shaped by the way the brain processes information leading to these decisions. In particular, the researchers are studying which of the available information subjects internalize, learn, retain, and use at different times when making a decision. You will be asked to make decisions at a computer. Before making a decision, you will be presented with information to a varying degree, and the timing of information presentation, as well as the time allowed to make a decision may also vary.
Relationship Between Synovial Fluid Biomarkers in ACL Reconstructed Patients and Progression of Osteoarthritis
The purpose of this research study is to look at biomarkers in synovial (joint) fluid and blood in patients undergoing knee surgery to develop a way to predict treatment radiological outcomes (such as osteoarthritis progression). Biomarkers are substances in the body that can measure normal processes in the body as well as abnormal processes such as inflammation and joint disease.
Relationship between the ocular microbiome and pseudoexfoliation syndrome
Observational study to determine the microbiome structure of the eye, mouth, and skin of subjects with pseudo exfoliation syndrome and cataracts before and after cataract surgery; and compare it to the microbiome of healthy controls. Cataract is an eye condition attributed to aging in which the natural lens of the eye gets clouded and a person's vision worsens. Pseudoexfoliation syndrome is when abnormal protein deposits in the front part of the lens and inside of the eye causing a characteristic type of cataract. As part of the study, the research study team would like to collect and analyze the bacteria and other small organisms present on the skin, the eye lids, and the mouth. The research study team would like to describe them and to see if they in any way affect the eye conditions described above.
