The DIAbetes TELEmedicine MEDiterranean Diet Study (DIATELEMED)
The purpose of this research study is to compare 3 different dietary management approaches for achieving blood sugar control for people with early-stage type 2 diabetes. Study participation will contribute to the scientific understanding of dietary management of type 2 diabetes and may help to improve health recommendations for people living with the disease.
The Digital Phenotype of Bipolar Disorder: An Observational Study of Mood Symptoms in Adolescents
The purpose of this research study is to use digital phenotyping, a method of collecting data from smartphone sensors, in addition to traditional assessments, to study relapse in adolescents with bipolar disorder. Research suggests that there is a period of time, prior to the onset of clinically-significant mood symptoms, during which individuals who have bipolar disorder experience a change in functioning. This period could provide an opportunity to intervene before more serious and impairing symptoms begin. We are recruiting both adolescents with bipolar disorder and adolescents who have no mental health diagnosis. Participation will last 18 months and involve 19 study appointments. Adolescents, and their caregiver, will be interviewed monthly to monitor changes in mood and behavior. During this time, adolescent participants will also have data collected from their smartphone sensors and will complete brief self-report surveys.
The DISCOVER INOCA Prospective Multi-center Registry - Determining the Cause of Coronary Vasomotor Disorders in Patients with Ischemia and No Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease
The overall objective of this multi-center registry is to identify specific phenotypes of patients with ischemia and no obstructive coronary artery disease (INOCA) with both an anatomic evaluation (coronary angiography and intravascular imaging) and physiologic assessment with the Abbott Coroventis Coroflow Cardiovascular System, and to determine long-term outcomes.
The Effect of Bone-void filler on Anterior Knee Pain Following ACL Reconstruction with Bone-Patellar Tendon Bone Autograft
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of and compare bone-void filler material on outcomes following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with bone-patella-tendon-bone (BPTB) autograft. During ACL reconstruction surgery with BPTB, surgeons remove a portion of the patella (knee cap) and may fill in the missing bone using a bone-void filler. There are different kinds of bone-void fillers that are used by surgeons. However, while each material has its own benefits and risks, there is no goldstandard or preferred material among surgeons. This study will compare bone obtained from the BPTB graft harvest, and bone graft plus calcium phosphate cement, and bone graft plus demineralized bone matrix (DBM) to see if there is a difference in knee pain as well as knee function and subject quality of life after surgery.
The Effect of Semaglutide in Non-Cirrhotic Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis
We are doing this study to see if the medicine called semaglutide can help patients with NASH get better and reduce their risk of future liver complications. NASH is a disease where fat, inflammation and scar tissue build up in the liver. Semaglutide may improve these liver damages. By improving liver damage it might be possible to prevent future liver complications. Semaglutide is already used by doctors to treat patients with type 2 diabetes in many countries. It is also used in research studies of patients with obesity and of patients with different stages of NASH. However, its use for your condition is not approved by the US Food and Drug administration. Its use in this study is therefore considered experimental. This study will mainly look at changes in your liver after treatment with semaglutide. The study will also look at complications related to your liver disease. This is done by: Comparing liver tissue samples taken at the study start with liver tissue samples taken later in the study. Collecting information about any liver complications you may have while being in the study.
The Effect of Transcutaneous Auricular Vagal Nerve Stimulation (Tavns) on Pupillary Response and Perceptual Learning
This study will evaluate taVNS versus a sham setting on healthy human subjects and observe pupillary response. The study will then use taVNS, sham, and no intervention to evaluate perceptual learning.
The effects of Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy on ambulatory blood pressure of transgender adolescents
The goal of this study is to inform regarding effects of GAHT on blood pressure, to help improve clinical practice guidelines regarding screening and treatment of transgender adolescents, in order to provide more comprehensive counsel to patients regarding the possible risks.
The GORE VBX FORWARD Clinical Study: A Comparison of the GORE VIABAHN VBX Balloon Expandable Endoprosthesis to Bare Metal Stenting for Patients with Complex Iliac Occlusive Disease
To demonstrate the superiority of the VBX Device for primary patency when compared to bare metal stenting in complex iliac occlusive disease.
The Hancock Jaffe Surgical Antireflux Venous Valve Endoprosthesis (SAVVE) Study
The purpose of this study is to learn whether the Hancock Jaffe bioprosthetic venous valve(VenoValve®) will help subjects like you with severe chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) in their legs and whether the risks of being treated with the study valve are acceptable. Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI)occurs when the valves inside the veins of your leg do not function properly, causing blood to flow backwards and pool in the lower leg, and leading to elevated venous pressure inside the leg veins. The VenoValve is meant to decrease or eliminate the problems that people have with CVI, such as swelling, discoloration, pain, soreness, itchy or burning sensations, and ulcers (open sores) on the leg.
The HEALthy Brain and Child Development Study (HBCD)
The HBCD Initiative will map multiple aspects of child development, from behavior to biome to MRI scans of the brain, to better understand the impact of environments on child development. This is a paid study. Transportation will be provided.
