Integrating financial coaching and smoking cessation coaching for people with low income who smoke: a randomized controlled trial
This study conduct a two-arm, parallel-group randomized controlled trial. We will recruit and randomize 900 smokers (n=450 per arm) to either: (1) Control: Standard Smoking Cessation Counseling or (2) Intervention: Integrated Financial-Smoking Cessation Counseling. Both groups will receive 8 weeks of nicotine replacement therapy. We will survey participants at baseline, 6 months, and 12 months to assess outcomes and mechanisms, and biochemically verify self-reported abstinence at 12 months (our primary outcome). We will assess and compare the cost-per-quit in the two treatment arms.

Interferometric Near-infrared Spectroscopy (iNIRS) for non-invasive sensing of tissue blood flow and oxygenation
It has been challenging to diagnose diseases occurring deep within the human brain with portable and inexpensive medical imaging. While technologies such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) provide state-of-the-art imaging resolution, more portable, less invasive, and cheaper technologies are needed. This study will test a new non-invasive technology, called Interferometric Near-infrared Spectroscopy (iNIRS), that uses light to measure flow and oxygenation deep inside tissues. During the study, non-invasive optical monitoring of blood flow and other physiological parameters will be performed in participants as they perform simple tasks, or during physiological manipulations.
International CDKL5 Clinical Research Network
Our research network is uniquely positioned to develop clinical trial readiness for CDD (by Cyclin-dependent kinase like 5 Deficiency Disorder) pairing exceptional experience in the development and validation of outcome measures with an extensive network of CDD experts and clinical trialists. Our goals are to 1) refine and validate appropriate quantitative COMs (Clinical Outcome Measures) and biomarkers and 2) conduct a multi-site clinical trial readiness study to ensure that they can be successfully implemented. We will test the hypothesis that CDD specific COMs can be refined to accurately and reproducibly track meaningful changes in future clinical trial.

International study of Artificial Intelligence-based Diagnosis of Cardiomyopathy using Cardiac MRI
This study is testing the ability of artificial intelligence-based algorithms to look at cardiac MRI images to: i) decide what disease a patient has, and ii) predict if a patient will experience a major cardiac complication in the near future. The accuracy of these algorithms needs to be tested in different places and across different patient groups before it can be used in real world practice. This study aims to test the accuracy of these algorithms in an international setting
