Located on a sprawling campus on the east side of Manhattan, the faculty draws upon the research facilities of the NYU School of Medicine and the new Smilow Research Building to bring the latest advances in care to the bedside. The NYU Clinical Cancer Center on East 34th Street offers the latest in diagnostic imaging, chemotherapy and radiation therapy to our patients. Resident and fellowship training programs include rotations at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, The Manhattan VA Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, and Tisch Hospital.
The Department of Surgery merges the most advanced aspects of research, medical education, and clinical care offered by a major urban academic medical center. The surgeons are ranked among the best by New York Magazine and Castle Connolly Medical References. Tisch Hospital is ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the US, and the Nursing Department has been awarded Magnet status in recognition of its outstanding nursing care.
