Advanced Surgery Clerkship

The New York University Department of Surgery is pleased to offer the Advanced Surgery Clerkship. This course is open to medical students with a strong interest in a general surgery or surgical specialty who have completed the core surgery clerkship. The advanced surgery subinternship provides additional training and experience in general surgery. For NYU students it also fulfills the subinternship graduation requirement for students applying for a residency in general surgery or other surgical specialty. Students will be assigned to one of our general surgery services for a four week block.

The Director of the Advanced Surgery Clerkship is Dr. Jennifer Ogilvie.

The coordinator of the Advanced Surgery Clerkship is Lydia Cassard.

NOTE: If you are a medical student from an LCME-accredited school of medicine who is interested in a visiting rotation in surgery at NYU, please contact Lydia Cassard for details and availability.
