MD Critical Care Clerkship & Advanced Subinternship Lotteries
As part of stage four of NYU School of Medicine’s MD curriculum, you complete a critical care clerkship in an intensive care unit and a subinternship in advanced medicine, advanced surgery, or advanced pediatrics.
During critical care clerkships you participate in daily teaching rounds that provide hands-on experience with critically ill patients. Our advanced subinternships provide opportunities for you to take on additional clinical responsibilities beyond those available in your core clerkships. These experiences help you prepare for your upcoming residency.
Scheduling Your Critical Care Clerkship and Subinternship Experiences
To enroll in critical care clerkships and advanced subinternships, you participate in separate online lotteries using SOLARIS (Kerberos ID and password required for login). You are assigned a lottery number for each course type. You then rank the available schedules in order of preference.
The lotteries are conducted in multiple rounds until all available options are closed.
