
Lerner Health Promotion Program’s Innovation Award
The Lerner Health Promotion Program's Innovation Award is designed to foster innovative approaches to whole-person health promotion programming, evaluation, and research among NYU Langone Health professionals. The program also aims to engage the broader community in adopting healthy habits.
Each year, the program awards grants focusing on examining or integrating the principles of the Monday Campaigns in whole-person health and disease prevention within the academic health setting.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be faculty or staff of one of the following institutions:
- NYU Langone Health (including Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital, NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk, and all affiliated ambulatory centers, clinics, and institutes)
- NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine
- New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing
Some consideration may be given to other New York University faculty.
Areas of Interest
Proposals should address modifiable risk behaviors, including but not limited to the following:
- reducing sedentary behavior
- improving sleep habits
- reducing excessive screen time engagement
- cessation of tobacco and nicotine products
- encouraging better eating habits
- improving mental resiliency

- patients and caregivers
- faculty and staff
- NYU Langone Health trainees
Potential Study Methodologies
- feasibility testing
- pilot testing and outcome-based research
- evaluation of whole-person health promotion interventions
- dissemination and implementation of science approaches
Funding
Financial support is offered for the following purposes:
- short-term or periodic research assistance
- incentives for study participants
- materials/supplies
- development and production of recruitment-related materials
- travel expenses for meetings/presentations
