Organizational Skills Training Study for Elementary School–Aged Children

NYU Langone’s Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry offers organizational skills training (OST) for elementary school–aged children who have neurodevelopmental conditions, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Developed over the course of two decades by Howard B. Abikoff, PhD, and Richard Gallagher, PhD, OST significantly improves behavioral and academic performance. Findings from a clinical trial indicate that OST increases in-school productivity, reduces homework problems, and improves relationships with family and friends among children with ADHD.

We are now enrolling children to participate in a study to identify brain changes that occur during OST. To participate, your child must be in grades 3 through 5 and struggle with organization.

To enroll, you and your child complete a short survey. If you are eligible, your child receives a brief, no-cost, in-person assessment, two MRI scans, and individualized OST for 12 weeks. The training takes place at the Child Study Center, part of Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone.
