Adult Cardiac Surgery Clinical Services

At NYU Langone, our cardiac surgeons and interventional cardiologists perform procedures for heart conditions, including aortic and mitral valve disease, coronary heart disease, cardiac tumors, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Marfan syndrome, aortic dissections, thoracic aortic aneurysms, and advanced heart failure.

Our surgeons are world-renowned experts in minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery, and transcatheter procedures, with extensive experience in bypass surgery and reoperation, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. We have performed more minimally invasive and robotic heart surgeries for complex heart conditions than any other medical center in the Northeast.

Surgeons at our Heart Valve Center have pioneered many of the minimally invasive heart valve treatments currently employed as the standard of care across the country. Our surgeons were early advocates of mitral valve repair and were the first in the United States to perform a transcatheter aortic valve replacement using the new Medtronic CoreValve® Evolut R System. They were also the first to perform transcatheter mitral valve replacement using the Caisson valve.
