NYU Langone’s Section for Health Equity and the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity co-sponsored the 2022 Summer Health Equity Seminar Series. The seminars provide interns, fellows, and study team members with an increased awareness about the role health equity plays in health and medicine. The seminars also aim to examine how to integrate health equity in research, outreach, and community partnerships, including an overview of qualitative and quantitative research methods.

The goals of the seminar series include the following:

• broaden and deepen the understanding of health equity research and health disparities
• increase interest and understanding of how the health equity approach can be applied to community-based research
• increase the number of potential investigators who take a health equity approach and incorporate social determinants of health into their work
