Division of Cardiology Clinical Services
Physicians in the Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology, a part of NYU Langone’s Department of Medicine, offer an array of clinical services to prevent, diagnose, and treat cardiovascular disease.
Electrophysiology
Cardiac electrophysiologists in our division offer their diagnostic and treatment expertise for all types of arrhythmia at the Heart Rhythm Center. They also collaborate with genetic counselors and researchers in the center’s Inherited Arrythmia Program to diagnose and treat people with genetic heart rhythm disorders.
Interventional Cardiology
Our interventional cardiologists provide care to complex, higher-risk indicated patients at NYU Langone’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This high-volume facility features the latest catheter technology, which is used to prevent, diagnose, and treat coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, and stroke.
Advanced Heart Failure
People with cardiomyopathy and heart failure receive care from our cardiologists at the Heart Failure Advanced Care Center. Treatments may include medication, ventricular assist devices, or a referral for heart transplant.
Heart Valve Center
Our cardiologists work with surgeons from the Division of Adult Cardiac Surgery to offer transcatheter, robotic-assisted, and conventional surgical procedures to people with aortic valve disease, mitral valve disease, and tricuspid valve disease at the Heart Valve Center.
Cardiac Critical Care
Our cardiologists provide critical care to patients with serious conditions such as myocardial infarction, advanced heart failure, and acute cardiogenic shock requiring mechanical circulatory support.
Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
Faculty at the Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease collaborate with primary care physicians, dietitians, exercise physiologists, and other specialists to manage cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes to prevent heart disease.
Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program
Division faculty in the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program work with a variety of specialists to provide ongoing, personalized care to people with congenital heart conditions such as atrial septal defect, pulmonary stenosis, and single ventricles.
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Our cardiologists collaborate with cardiac surgeons to provide care for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy through our comprehensive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy program.
Cardiovascular Thrombosis Program
Our division faculty apply the latest research to anticoagulant strategies for inherited and genetic thrombotic conditions such as platelet hyperreactivity and deep vein thrombosis through our Cardiovascular Thrombosis Program.
Echocardiography for Heart Disease
Noninvasive Cardiology Laboratory cardiologists offer echocardiography and other noninvasive imaging techniques to diagnosis conditions such as aortic valve disease and atrial fibrillation and to guide procedures such as cardiac catheterization and open heart surgery.
Cardiac and Vascular Surgery
Our cardiologists also refer patients to adult cardiac surgery services and to the Aortic Center for vascular procedures. Our specialists are skilled in performing surgery for vascular malformations in the torso and limbs.
Consultative and General Cardiology
Our physicians offer consultative and general cardiology services through NYU Langone Cardiology Associates.
Cardio-Oncology Program
Cardiologists in our Cardio-Oncology Program collaborate with oncologists at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center to determine whether patients are at risk of developing cardiovascular complications from cancer treatment. We then create personalized preventive care plans to protect their cardiovascular health. We also provide cardiac care for cancer survivors.
Geriatric Cardiology
NYU Langone’s Geriatric Cardiology Program provides inpatient and outpatient care to older adults with cardiovascular disease and who may have other underlying conditions.
Women and Heart Disease
Our specialists have an in-depth understanding of heart disease risks and outcomes in women and provide them with tailored cardiovascular disease treatment programs.
