Division of General Internal Medicine & Clinical Innovation
At the Division of General Internal Medicine and Clinical Innovation, caring for vulnerable patients is at the heart of what we do. We continuously investigate ways to transform healthcare, with the goal of delivering high-quality, high-value, patient-centered care that results in improved health outcomes.
The core mission of our division, which is part of NYU Langone Health’s Department of Medicine, is to optimize patient care using integrated clinical care strategies and innovations in medical education and research.
Our partners include NYU Langone’s Department of Population Health, Division of Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care, Division of Hospital Medicine, Institute for Innovations in Medical Education, and Comprehensive Program on Obesity, as well as general internists throughout the New York City and Florida areas. We seek to improve patient care and clinical outcomes, medical student education, and physician training in today’s healthcare environment.
We engage in research on core health issues for urban populations, including substance use disorders, health behavior change, and chronic disease prevention and management. We also study evidence-based strategies for training future physicians to address these issues effectively.
Our educational and research programs tell the story of innovative, creative solutions that allow our experts to provide high-quality, collaborative clinical services across diverse settings at NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, as well as NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, NYC Health + Hospitals/Gouverneur, and the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System.
