Neurology Research Tools
NYU Langone offers a variety of tools to support Department of Neurology researchers’ study designs, research data access, and participant recruitment.
SlicerDicer
SlicerDicer is a self-service tool that allows researchers to explore cohort data for research queries. It can be used to conduct feasibility searches, in which you can view aggregate data to generate a hypothesis or explore recruitment potential for a study, as well as to recruit participants for IRB-approved studies. To learn how to use this resource, researchers can take the SlicerDicer for Research FOCUS course or review the Introduction to SlicerDicer tip sheet (Kerberos ID and password required).
iConnect
iConnect offers various tools to help with study recruitment. The clinical studies registry helps patients and clinical staff find useful, easy-to-access information regarding IRB-approved clinical studies. The volunteer registry helps study teams identify potential research study participants. The Outreach Campaign tool enables tracking of digital and non-digital research outreach and advertising.
ResearchMatch
ResearchMatch is a national registry developed by major academic institutions across the country to connect patients with clinical research studies. The CTSI’s Recruitment and Retention Center provides training for investigators interested in using ResearchMatch to find study participants.
NYU Data Catalog
The NYU Data Catalog is a resource for researchers looking for datasets relevant to their work. It includes datasets generated by NYU Langone researchers as well as publicly available and licensed datasets that are managed by external organizations such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Databrary
Databrary is a specialized, restricted access data library designed to store, stream, and share video and audio recordings collected as research data or documentation.
Faculty Bibliography Search
The Faculty Bibliography (FacBib) is the NYU Health Sciences Library’s bibliographic database, containing citation data for all publications produced by members of the NYU Langone community.
Faculty Publication Metrics
