Orthopedic Surgery Visiting International Physician’s Program

The Visiting International Physician’s (VIP) Program in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery is an academic observership for international physicians with an interest in orthopedic surgery. The observership takes place at various locations, including NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, NYU Langone Orthopedic Center, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. Candidates interested in participating in this program must have graduated from medical school and have an MD degree.

Our department hosts visiting orthopedic surgeons from numerous nations throughout the year. These visits have a twofold benefit: you learn about state-of-the-art orthopedic techniques with us while sharing your own accrued knowledge and expertise with our faculty.

In order to participate in our VIP Program, you must have a faculty sponsor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. The sponsor guides your stay and helps you to obtain your desired educational experience. The length of your visit, the location of the observership, and the specific activities you are to engage in are agreed upon by you and your faculty sponsor before you arrive.

All observer visits requires departmental approval and final approval is granted by the NYU Langone's Chief Medical Officer.
