NYU Langone’s Harkness Center for Dance Injuries offers academic observation for certified healthcare professionals.

Academic Observation

The Harkness Center for Dance Injuries welcomes licensed medical professionals to apply for a three-day academic observation. Observations are geared toward physical therapists, athletic trainers, and physicians who are interested in learning more about the unique discipline of dance medicine. Please note that observation of surgery is not possible.

How to Apply

For an observation during the following February to May, the application deadline is October 1.

For an observation during the following September to December, the application deadline is May 1.

Due to the volume of requests, we are unable to accommodate all applicants. Two observers will be selected per season.

To be considered, please send a formal letter of interest, current CV, and your preferred observation dates within the spring or fall season by the respective deadlines. Observers must commit to a three-day visit.

Materials should be emailed to Kristen Stevens, program coordinator, at Kristen.Stevens@NYULangone.org. If selected, you must complete additional clearance from NYU Langone Human Resources, which includes medical clearance and background check.
