Population Health Internships & Career Training

NYU Langone’s Department of Population Health offers internships and training programs throughout the academic year and in the summer to students and professionals at many career stages.

Internships

Our internships allow high school and college students to gain valuable experience in population health research.

Health Services Research Internship

Our health services research internship in the Section on Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug Use is open to current and recent undergraduate students. Interns assist with research and other projects at NYU Langone locations and the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System.

Medical Ethics Internship

We offer a medical ethics internship in the Division of Medical Ethics for high school and college students. Interns collaborate on ongoing projects with faculty and participate in division activities in areas such as research ethics, sports ethics, transplantation ethics, allocation of medical resources, and clinical ethics.

We offer training programs for professionals at various stages of their careers.

Community Empowered Research Training

Our Community Empowered Research Training program in the NYU Center for the Study of Asian American Health teaches executive directors and program managers at community organizations how to develop community-focused research initiatives.

Community Health Worker Training

Our Community Health Worker Training program in the NYU Center for the Study of Asian American Health trains active and aspiring community health workers in areas that are essential for this profession, including teaching and communication, clinical skills, disease education, health promotion, and research.

Comparative Effectiveness and Implementation Research Training Program Certificate

Our Comparative Effectiveness and Implementation Research Training Program certificate in the Division of Comparative Effectiveness and Decision Science is geared toward students who have prior training in clinical research methods and want to gain a background in comparative effectiveness or implementation research.

Certificate in Healthcare Delivery Science

Health Disparities Research Training Program

Our Health Disparities Research Training Program in the NYU Center for the Study of Asian American Health provides training, outreach, and research opportunities for students and health professionals to help them address Asian American health disparities.

Motivational Interviewing Training

We offer training in motivational interviewing, a strategy designed to motivate people to change their health behaviors, to research and patient care teams through our Center for Healthful Behavior Change.

Substance Use Research Education and Training Program

Our Substance Use Research Education and Training program in the Section on Tobacco, Alcohol, and Drug Use educates NYU and NYU Langone students from diverse health disciplines to work in the rapidly evolving field of substance abuse research.
