PS in FD dose finding study

Status: Recruiting

The Nutritional Supplement Phosphatidylserine in Patients with Familial Dysautonomia (dose finding study):Phosphatidylserine is a dietary supplement that has been shown to overcome the protein deficiency and raise levels of IKAP in cell-lines and, more recently, a mouse model of FD. We are currently conducting a study to measure the effects of increasing doses of phosphatidylserine (300 mg, 600 mg, and 800 mg) in patients with FD. Our overall goal is to determine whether this compound can overcome the IKAP deficiency in patients with FD and to see whether this has an impact on the clinical features of the disease.

Eligibility: The study is open to people with familial dysautonomia age 12 years and older.
