Obstetrics & Gynecology Electives for Visiting Medical Students

The Obstetrics and Gynecology electives are designed to supplement the third-year core clerkship in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The program fosters greater clinical responsibility and the opportunity to gain additional experience in various subspecialties of obstetrics and gynecology, as well as research in the reproductive sciences.

Clinical clerkship experience and research opportunities take advantage of the obstetrical and gynecological services at NYC + Health Hospitals/Bellevue and NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital. These electives have been designed to meet the student's individual needs and interests. They also offer the opportunity for advancement of clinical skills and for participation in clinical and laboratory research. The student works closely with the fellows, residents, and faculty members of the particular division and is an integral part of the team.

Electives may be scheduled throughout the school year, subject to the approval of the department. When submitting your application, please include all items listed in the following section along with the application.

Each elective is scheduled for a period of one month, which may be extended if arranged with the preceptor. To view the official elective programs currently offered by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, please visit the registrar's website.
