This dataset is a clinical snapshot of all patients who have had some type of COVID-19 related clinical activity at NYU Langone. All patients who have been tested for COVID-19, been diagnosed, or suspected of having COVID-19 are entered into the database, as well as much of these patients’ deidentified clinical data.

Patient

All patients who had a COVID-19 PCR or antibody test sent, a COVID-19 diagnosis documented, or a COVID-19 flag placed on the chart. Each record has a flag that shows if they had a COVID-19 PCR sent, had a positive PCR at any time, had a COVID-19 antibody test sent, had an antibody test that was positive at any time, had a COVID-19 diagnosis documented, and if they had a COVID-19 flag placed on the chart.

Encounter

All ambulatory, telemedicine or inpatient encounters > January 1, 2020 for patients in the COVID-19 cohort. Dates are date shifted.

Diagnosis

All diagnoses for patients in the COVID-19 cohort ever. Records obtained from: Problem List, Medical History, and inpatient coded Encounter Diagnoses. All dates are date shifted and all diagnoses prior to January 1, 2019 are flagged as being January 1, 2019.

Procedure_Order

All procedure orders for patients in the COVID-19 cohort order date > '1/1/2020'. Dates are shifted.

Lab_Result

All lab results for patients in the COVID-19 cohort with a result date > '1/1/2020'. Dates are date shifted.

Medication

All medications ordered, prescribed, or documented by taking a history for patients in the COVID-19 cohort, documented > '1/1/2019'. Dates are shifted.

MAR

Medication administration record for inpatient encounters for patients in the cohort.

Observation

Observations made about patients in the cohort with observation date '1/1/2020'. Dates are shifted. Observations include: vital signs, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), method of oxygen supplementation, and others.

Vent_Observation

Observations related to ventilator utilization made about patients in the cohort with observation date '1/1/2020'. Dates are shifted. Vent observations include several ventilator settings including FIO2, plateau pressure, ventilator mode, etc.

Social_History

All social history records documented in the chart for patients in the COVID-19 cohort.

Inpatient_ADT_Event

All inpatient ADT (admission, discharge, and transfer) event records after 1/1/2020 for patients in the COVID-19 cohort. This table stores information about level of care and hospital service documentation during hospital admissions.
