Application Process

How to Apply

All applications to our program are made through the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Information concerning the specifics of application through ERAS can be acquired through your dean's office or AAMC. An Application Information Sheet which explains ERAS to applicants can be viewed on the ERAS site. All positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Applicants should have their ERAS applications submitted and complete by October 1, 2018. Required documentation includes the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (Dean's Letter), three letters of recommendation, USMLE Step 1 scores, medical school transcript, a personal statement, and curriculum vitae.

Graduates of non-US medical schools (except Canadian) must obtain an ECFMG. All residents must have completed a preliminary year of training at an ACGME-accredited institution before entering the residency program. We will offer 8 Diagnostic Radiology and 2 Integrated Interventional Radiology positions in the forthcoming interview season.

Selection of Residents

The applicant's academic record, research experience and extracurricular activities are reviewed. The most important elements of the application are the letters of recommendation and the Dean's letter.

Selected applicants are invited to visit NYU and have several interviews with our faculty. Following completion of all interviews, the selection committee meets to have a session during which applications are reviewed, the applicants are discussed and a rank order for the match is generated.

All selection decisions are made in accordance with NYU School of Medicine Institutional Guidelines.
