The radiology residencies at NYU Grossman School of Medicine provide residents with a number of benefits to support personal and career development.

Academic Resources

We maintain a fund for academic resources that residents can use for books, computer hardware and software, and other educational materials.

NYU Grossman School of Medicine provides all residents with an iPad to access imaging journals, radiology websites, and e-textbooks needed to complete the radiology residency curriculum. Residents can use the devices to view rotation information, assignments, and reading material, as well as archived resident lectures and recorded presentations. All residents also receive a subscription to RadPrimer for your first through third years and StatDx for the duration of your training.

Additional resources are available at the NYU Health Sciences Library and the Elmer Holmes Bobst Library on the main NYU campus, as well as various point-of-care tools at our clinical locations.

Conference Travel

The Department of Radiology funds resident travel to attend academic conferences, if you are presenting research. This includes reimbursement for airfare and hotel expenses and a meal allowance.

American Institute for Radiologic Pathology Course

We also allocate funds for residents to attend a four-week pathology course offered by the American Institute for Radiologic Pathology. The course provides a comprehensive review of the principles of radiologic–pathologic correlation. The Department of Radiology covers the cost of the course, travel expenses, and housing.

Extra Call for Extra Pay

Voluntary, paid call opportunities are open to second-, third-, and fourth-year radiology residents.

Social Activities

The Department of Radiology sponsors monthly social events for residents and hosts an annual welcome barbecue for new staff, holiday parties, and a graduation dinner.
