Multiomics

The Nolan Lab uses metabolic profiling (the systematic analysis of all metabolites) to identify biomarkers for lung disease in collaboration with Susan Sumner, PhD, at the National Institutes of Health Eastern Regional Comprehensive Metabolomics Research Core and Research Triangle Institute International.

Three-Panel Graph Showing Biomarker Dataset for NYPD Firefighters Metabolic Profiling
Our rich dataset has allowed us to elucidate novel pathways of pathogenesis and biologically plausible therapeutic targets.

Overall, our multipronged approach has generated a rich biomarker dataset. In collaboration with Mengling Liu, PhD, in a professor in the Department of Population Health’s Division of Biostatistics and in NYU’s Center for Data Science, we perform high-dimensional data analysis to elucidate novel pathways of pathogenesis and biologically plausible therapeutic targets.
