Research Support Service
At NYU School of Medicine’s Research Support Service, our experienced staff optimizes your experimental research by preparing reagents and connecting you with reliable product vendors, providing exceptional glass wash and autoclave services, and protecting and storing frozen samples. We also work closely with the Small Instrument Fleet to provide researchers with access to advanced tools for the analysis of samples.

To use the reagent preparation program or vendor program, please fill out our terms of agreement form.
For a list of available reagents and pricing, log onto our pricing page with your Kerberos ID. To order custom reagents or larger quantities of stock reagents, use our order form. Orders are typically completed within four business days. If you need any new reagents added to our available list, email email@example.com.
You can pick up reagents from our lab spaces in Smilow 304 (522 First Avenue) and Alexandria Center for Life Sciences West Tower 543 (430 E 29th Street). In both locations, our staff is available to assist from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, while you have access 24/7 by entering with your ID badge. All reagents must be signed out by you on the computer provided. Our stockroom in Smilow 304 (522 First Avenue) houses a number of cabinets, refrigerators, and freezers with various reagents, buffers, plasticware, restriction enzymes, and other basic life science consumables for purchase from third-party vendors. Some vendors’ units are only available from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. For a list of available vendors, their items, and pricing, log onto our pricing page with your Kerberos ID. All items must be signed out by you on the computer provided. Instructions are posted onsite.

Glass Wash and Autoclave Services
The Research Support Service team is composed of highly skilled and experienced professionals that provide glass wash and autoclave services to our research laboratories. To inquire about our services or place a service request, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Frozen Sample Protection Service
We can arrange for offsite storage of frozen samples at -80 degrees Celsius or in liquid nitrogen. Backup freezers are available onsite, at -20 degrees Celsius or -80 degrees Celsius, for temporary storage if your freezer breaks or requires defrosting. We can assist with transporting samples between units onsite using our mobile CryoCart.
We can arrange to safeguard your frozen samples with offsite storage in ULT freezers at -80 Celsius or in liquid nitrogen.
Research Support Service staff can assist with consolidation of your freezer. We have a Cryocart for transport of frozen samples.
