Faculty Position Available in the Division of Healthcare Delivery Science

Faculty Position: Department of Population Health, NYULMC

The Division of Healthcare Delivery Science in the Department of Population Health at New York University School of Medicine is seeking to recruit a full-time, tenure track faculty member to join the Division.

The mission of the Division of Healthcare Delivery Science is to bridge academia and the healthcare delivery system to advance research and practice in implementation science, quality of care and patient safety. We are an academic home for researchers interested in the practical application of health services research, industrial and human factors engineering principles, mixed methods evaluation, predictive analytics, clinical informatics, safety science and quality improvement methodology to real-world healthcare delivery challenges. Our faculty includes physicians, epidemiologists, bioinformaticists and others who work in collaboration with hospital operations staff, clinicians, administrators and information technology staff to create a learning healthcare system, using both intramural and extramural funding. Our Center for Healthcare Innovation and Delivery Science supports delivery system redesign at NYU and includes over 30 affiliated faculty.Our faculty members also conduct research with other systems and data sources to improve healthcare delivery nationally.

The Department of Population Health includes over 70 full-time faculty members and numerous post-doctoral fellows, students and research staff. NYU Langone Medical Center encompasses NYU School of Medicine and NYU Hospitals Center. Both the school and the hospital have been named in the top 15 in the nation by US News and World Report. NYU Hospitals Center is a Magnet institution that has been rated first for quality and safety by the University HealthSystem Consortium for the past three years.

The ideal candidate will have an MD or PhD degree, post-graduate research training, an excellent track record of high quality publications, expertise in a relevant field, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, a passion for improving healthcare, and enthusiasm for collaborating with a multidisciplinary research group. Strong quantitative or qualitative analytic skills are necessary. A history of independent funding is desirable. For physician investigator candidates, board certification or eligibility and NY State licensure or eligibility is required. Applicants at any level of academic rank are encouraged; salary and rank will be determined on the basis of experience. Senior investigators should have demonstrated ability to obtain extramural funding, lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior faculty.
