Movement Disorders Clinical Research

In the Kellar Family Division of Movement Disorders, our clinical research goals are to discover and develop novel biomarkers and therapies for patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders by collaborating with basic scientists and investigators in other disciplines.

NYU Langone’s Fresco Institute for Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders is committed to leading innovative patient-centered studies that include patients with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders including Huntington’s disease, dystonia, tremor, atypical parkinsonism, and others.

Our high-impact focus areas include the following:

  • identifying genetic mutations in patients and possible therapies for their disease
  • discovering biomarkers of movement disorders in order to improve diagnosis and treatment
  • developing therapies to delay or prevent disease progression
  • improving patient quality of life through new approaches to mitigate and manage symptoms
