Setting Up Research

As you are building your research program at NYU Langone, please refer to the Neurology Clinical Research Handbook (Kerberos ID and password required). It provides useful information and resources to help manage your lab and answer questions you may have about common administrative tasks, which includes staffing your lab (Kerberos ID and password required), making purchases, and accessing recruitment resources.

For additional research needs, please visit the MyResearch Portal (Kerberos ID and password required).

The following resources may also be helpful in navigating regulatory and compliance requirements.

Office of Science and Research Divisions, Institutes, and Units

The Office of Science and Research (OSR) has links to all of the administrative entities under OSR, as well other important departments and resources for the NYU Langone research community.

Institutional Review Board (IRB) Operations

NYU Langone’s IRB Operations facilitates the review process of human subjects research at NYU Langone and our affiliates. Their website includes an IRB template library, which provides standard templates for protocols, forms, and waivers, and guidance for human subject research.

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee

NYU Langone’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) oversees the responsible use of vertebrate animals in research and instructional activities at the NYU Langone Health. Their website provides updates, protocol information, and job aids for researchers and staff conducting animal research.

Institutional Biosafety Committee

NYU Langone’s Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) is responsible for ensuring that researchers conducting experiments that involve the use of potentially hazardous biological materials adhere to the policies and guidelines on the use of these agents. Their website provides guidelines and resources for researchers and staff conducting research with potentially hazardous biological materials.

Research Policies

Departments, investigators, and other individuals responsible for conduct and management of research can learn about research policies, procedures, and other important resources by research and policy area (Kerberos ID and password required).

Bellevue Research Resources

Access research guidance and tips for our study teams who are considering using NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue as a research site (Kerberos ID and password required).
