Diversity Message

The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine is committed to nurturing a diverse community dedicated to promoting excellence and leadership in Emergency Medicine through education, research, and clinical care. Our unique perspectives and contributions as residents, faculty, and staff are the foundation and drivers of our excellence.

We celebrate the multiple dimensions of diversity that each member of our community offers, including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic circumstance, national origin, geographic background, immigration status, ability and disability, religious belief and age.

We will prioritize diversity and inclusion in resident and faculty recruitment, retention and promotion. We will continuously monitor these efforts to ensure that the outcomes bring our department closer to reflecting the diversity found in our patients, community and nation.

We are proud to practice medicine in a dynamic city that has for centuries welcomed a diverse community of individuals searching for a better way of life. We are committed to respecting all members of our community and ensuring that each person feels valued and supported.
