Center for Clinical Research

The CCR serves as the central point for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery’s clinical research infrastructure. The center provides a common home for orthopaedic researchers who are based in the different Divisions of the Department, and is intended to enhance their collaboration and the sharing of department resources. The CCR will cover all of our major outpatient and inpatient facilities, supporting clinical research and facilitating the collection of patient-reported outcomes as part of standard care.

The CCR is currently focused on three primary initiatives: 1) to create a department-wide infrastructure that participating faculty can use to collect validated patient reported outcome data as part of standard practice; 2) to facilitate compliance with IRB and federal regulations regarding clinical research; and 3) to expand the clinical research support services available to department faculty. The CCR will provide support for clinical study design, biostatistics, regulatory and IRB requirements, biospecimen collection, storage and analysis, and grant application processes. The CCR may also be able to provide research coordinators and assistants to support specific studies.
