Neurology Residency, NYU Brooklyn Track

Welcome to the Neurology Residency at NYU Langone Brooklyn. We provide a nurturing and collegial place for residents to develop into well-rounded neurologists. Through expert instruction and numerous educational programs, residents will learn the science and art of neurology with a focus on culturally competent, evidence-based, and compassionate care.

The NYU Neurology Residency Program at NYU Langone Brooklyn is an ACGME-accredited training program centered on the clinical practice of acute neurology and community health in the ambulatory setting. Every year we accept three new residents to join our program. A guaranteed one year internship slot is also available to all residents that match for the NYU Langone Brooklyn Neurology Residency Program.

Our Brooklyn Campus is a 450-bed teaching hospital and has one of the largest Federally Qualified Ambulatory Health Center networks in the country. This gives our residents exposure to a wide-spectrum of neurological diseases, with programs that include a Joint Commission designated Comprehensive Stroke Center offering a full range of stroke care including acute stroke and neuro-interventional treatment, post-stroke rehabilitation and secondary stroke prevention in the ambulatory setting. We also offer exposure to use of telemedicine in providing acute stroke care. Our Epilepsy Program provides full epilepsy care in a 8-bed inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit. State-of-the-art neurointensive care unit training and a full range of subspeciality experiences are provided. Family Health Center at NYU Langone is a network of ambulatory clinics that offers outpatient exposure to adult general neurology, as well as subspecialty clinics.

Residents will receive a firm foundation in clinical and diagnostic neurology with an emphasis on neurophysiology, neuropathology, neuroradiology and clinical neurology through didactic and bedside teaching from experienced mentors. Rotations take place at the Brooklyn campus for the most part. In addition, our residents spend time at the other NYU Langone campuses. During training, residents have the opportunity to collaborate closely on research projects with mentorship from our faculty. Our residents take advantage of the many streamed lectures and opportunities available at other campuses including Patient Oriented Research Curriculum and the state of the art New York Simulation Center at Bellevue Hospital.

The breadth and depth of the NYU Neurology Residency Program make it an excellent choice for residents looking for an exceptional education. We hope you join us for a unique and fulfilling experience amongst the vibrancy of New York City.
