Travis Hill

Dr. Travis Hill grew up in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. He majored in psychology and completed his BS at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and graduated cum laude after being awarded multiple institutional grants and fellowships for his research with Dr. Stoffolano and Dr. Fite.  He then proceeded to do his PhD in neuroscience at the University of California, Davis, where he studied synapse formation in Dr. Zito’s laboratory. During his dissertation research, he realized how satisfying it was to improve the lives of individual patients and decided to pursue a clinical career.  He was accepted to the NYU School of Medicine as an inaugural member of NYU’s accelerated curriculum and completed his medical degree in three years.

Dr. Hill considers it a great privilege to be a trainee in NYU’s neurosurgery program.  At NYU, he has the opportunity to train with some of the leaders and pioneers in neurosurgery, renowned for their technical expertise and intellectual contributions to the field. Furthermore, basic neuroscience research at NYU is world-class and the neurosurgery department is committed to providing residents with the resources and infrastructure necessary to conduct impactful and clinically meaningful research. Finally, the exceptional group of faculty and residents who constitute NYU's neurosurgery program operate within the context of an institution-wide clinical milieu fostering close interdepartmental collaboration.  This confluence of factors is what Dr. Hill feels truly makes NYU’s neurosurgery program unique.

With his time outside the hospital, Dr. Hill enjoys snowboarding, jogging, cycling, surfing and spending time with friends and family.
