Yosef Dastagirzada, MD

Dr. Dastagirzada was born and raised in Queens, NY. He received his Bachelors of Science from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education- an accelerated 7-year medical program in NYC. He graduated summa cum laude and was very involved with tutoring medical students and leadership on campus. Dr. Dastagirzada finished his last two years of medical school at the NYU School of Medicine where he was introduced to the field of neurosurgery. His interest sparked in Dr. Jeffrey Wisoff's operating room and continued with his research projects on Chiari malformations, optic pathway gliomas, and spinal cord gliomas. His interests include pediatric neurosurgery, skull base tumors, and global neurosurgery. He enjoys traveling, running, spending time with family and friends, volleyball, and tennis. He believes that the operative experience at NYU paired with the supportive residents/attendings and excitement of NYC, make this a dream match for residency training.
