Grants and Funding

Many of the divisions’s research activities are funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health and other federal, state and local agencies, biomedical research foundations, the American Heart Association, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as philanthropic support.

The Division of Cardiology will receive a remarkable $25,000,000 in externally funded grant support this year, with over $150,000,000 in total committed project costs for active awards. This includes more than a dozen individual NIH R01 or PPG project awards, an NIH T32 Cardiovascular Sciences Training Grant, and an NIH S10 High Resolution Ultrasound Shared Instrumentation Grant, as well as the recent NIH award for the ISCHEMIA trial.
